Cognitive Behavioral Training

Individual Therapy is conducted by expert clinicians and psychiatrists who perform a thorough clinical assessment. This then determines each teen?s specific needs. As a result, we create an individualized treatment plan that encompasses a variety of counseling and therapeutic modalities. Each resident attends multiple weekly sessions with the clinicians who make up his or her individual eight-person Treatment Team.

Evidence-Based Approach

Our therapeutic program integrates a wide range of evidence-based approaches, including:

  • Dialectic Behavioral Therapy, which helps people identify their strengths and build on them, while also identifying the thoughts, beliefs, and assumptions that make life more difficult
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which focuses on examining the relationships between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, in order to modify patterns of thinking to improve coping skills
  • Motivational Enhancement Therapy, inspiring adolescents to seek healing and transformation through their own volition, rather than ?threats, coercion, or reward
  • Elements of the 12-Step Program, as tools to help residents face their limitations and view reality through a more objective lens

Our clinicians also integrate other modalities into each?resident?s?treatment plan. These modalities include experiential therapy, mindfulness practice, in addition to other techniques targeted to each individual?s specific needs.
